UK Home office minister Tony McNulty has been sacked at the behest of Rupert Murdoch’s SUN tabloid. The SUN has denounced McNulty as an ASS and linked him to a 'sex for visas- row' at the Home Office. What the SUN has not said is that McNulty was also the Transport Minister who was closely involved in the drafting of the Crossrail Bill that is particularly threatening vast communities in the East End of London

The Khoodeelaar! No to Crossrail hole Bill campaign has been demanding for over two years now that Tower Hamlets Council Chief Executive Christine Gilbert discloses what her own role has been in advising the Council on the Crossrail plot collusion by the Council.

Khoodeelaar has wanted to know how was it that as the wife of the minister who was involved in the promotion of the Crossrail Bill which is so hostile to the interests and safety of the people in the East End of London that Christine Gilbert did not withdraw from the post at Tower Hamlets as her continuing occupation of the post of chief executive raised questions about her impartiality on the critical matter of what she was advising the council to do on Crossrail.

Christine Gilbert has also been linked with Michael Keith over the questionable way that she was appointed to the post in the first place.

I am a tower hamlets resident. Avid reader of your site. I know hundreds of people are living in council homes. No longer so. They have been given away to private landlord organizations, they are not like the council system. What tower hamlets should have done was to improve the quality of service, not dismantle the housing stock. We also have the threat of CrossRail on us. What is the council doing about it? Nothing.
So why do we have a council?
Then I read in the sun that Tony McNulty was sacked. Then I read in your sites the same thing. Moreover, that Mcnulty is married to Christine Gilbert tower hamlets council chief executive.
What I want to know is, what did Christine know when McNulty was doing the CrossRail bill. It was him. I can say this as I have heard many speakers at local campaign demonstrations, meetings say this.
So what did we do to deserve Christine Gilbert taking the chief position to dismantle our housing, to make CrossRail come and attack us?

Why is she still in the council?
Why was she given a 'honour' in December - January?

My recollection is that about the time of the 2002 local council elections, the Daily Telegraph published a table in which they showed that Tower Hamlets Council was one of ten local councils in England, which were on the verge of bankruptcy.

I would like to know more about the finance of the Council.

Can anyone add to the info and perhaps update this file?

Thank you
