KHOODEELAAR! rebutting Mail on Sunday's strange plug for 'East London Idiotiser' and Richard Madeley..

16 August 2009

As many published comments on the Daily Mail /Mail on Sunday [today 16 August 2009] web site confirm, references to the ‘East London Advertiser’ are not treated as positive contributions to knowledge of current affairs, albeit about the inner city East End of London. Why today? Sunday 16 August 2009 has been the day when the nonentity and the non-journalist Richard Madeley being given a space on the MAIL ON SUNDAY.

The Mail on Sunday carries in its tabloid supplement a piece by LYN Olley, who with Madeley, was on the staff of the Idiotiser when it was still based in the Mile End Road in the 1970s. The Idiotiser’s then photographer is featured in the piece as the snapper who recorded Madeley’s time at the Idiotiser.

The same photographer also went on to marry Lyn Olley.

The Olley piece is empty. It is frighteningly empty. A few cliché words and phrases here and there. But on the whole, it is as empty, barren and stupid as any of its counterpart pieces today in the Idiotiser is. The piece should have been promoted as one about the early drinking career of Richard Madeley…

Nothing in the piece gives any idea about the real battles that were going on in the East End in the 1970s…..

The East London Idiotiser is lying in 2009 with the deletions, from its not so old web site, of ‘news’ articles it had published in 2004, 2005 and 2006 recording the community opposition to the Crossrail hole scam. Very odd indeed. But then it is only to be expected. After all the title ‘East London Advertiser’ was re-‘named’ ‘East London Idiotiser’ by the Khoodeelaar! Campaigns organiser Muhammad Haque more than a decade before the Khoodeelaar! Campaign against Crossrail had been even conceivable. That re-naming was based on the facts of the "East London Idiotiser's " conduct. . It not only published lies but also callous lies. Both aspects of the Idiotising behaviour are as evident in August 2009 as they were in 1989.

Or even in 1979. Or in 1973. The redesignation of the ‘East London Idiotiser’ was based on the contents of the title’s ‘news’ and on its prejudice, racist denial and ignorance. Incredible then that someone of the notoriety of Andrew Gilligan should have been ‘pressed’ into service to add his bits in the rescue operation for the sinking Idiotiser.

Gilligan’s previously [that is as mis-visioned by the Associated Newspapers et al ] ‘investigative’ ones about corruption and sleaze in housing stock transfers by Tower Hamlets Council and the voter registration, postal ballot and related scandal [2006] led to nothing of substance.

And the latest one is even more vacuous. .. Just so that the ‘East London Idiotiser’ cannot fool what ‘readers’ and ‘searchers’ still remain at all bothered to refer to the title, here are the relevant facts: the KHOODEELAAR! demonstration held on Friday 22 October 2004 against the Crossrail hole-inviting controlling clique on the ‘local’ Tower Hamlets Council, was reported one day in ADVANCE of the demonstration, by the ‘East London Idiotiser’, which carried the splash on the demonstration on the front page of edition dated Thursday 21 October 2004. And then the ‘Idiotiser’ carried a detailed item in its edition published on Thursday 28 October 2004.

That item was dominated by a three line heading “Crossrail protesters slam council for ‘failing’ people of Spitalfields’.

It was broadly along that line that a number of items appeared after that date in the East London Idiotiser…

This went on up to March 2006.. In March 2006, the momentum of the opposition to Crossrail as mobilised and represented by KHOODEELAAR! became so overwhelming that the UK central Govt decided to cave in.

It scrambled a ‘news’ stunt via Ken Livingstone and declared that the main Crossrail hole that KHOODEELAAR! was campaigning against, would be SCRAPPED! The announcement was ‘suitably’ made available by Ken Livingstone around lunchtime on Friday 24 March 2006 to the ‘Local’ ‘East London Idiotiser’.

So what did the ‘East London Idiotiser’ say about that particular event? Well the Idiotiser proved again that it was an IDIOTIC publication. WATCH THIS SPACE and READ THE TRULY SENSATIONAL facts here, soon....
